LXNAV LX9050 Slim 5-inch Glider Flight Computer
The LXNAV LX9050 is an integrated glider flight computer with a narrow 5-inch colour display, moving-map navigation, final glide calculations and an IGC recorder. Its 83 × 136 mm front makes it suitable for instrument panels with limited width. A V8 variometer is included as standard, with optional V9, V80, HAWK, AHRS, PowerFLARM, Wi-Fi and touchscreen configurations.
LXNAV LX9050 – narrow 5-inch glider flight computer
The LXNAV LX9050 combines moving-map navigation, task management, final glide calculations, variometer information and IGC recording in an integrated sailplane system.
Compared with the LX9000, the LX9050 has a narrower main unit while offering a 5-inch, 800 × 480 pixel colour display. This makes it suitable for panels where a wider flight computer would be difficult to install.
The standard package includes a V8 variometer. Alternative V9 and V80 configurations are available, with optional HAWK, AHRS, Wi-Fi, PowerFLARM and touchscreen.
Who is the LX9050 for?
Gliders with narrow instrument panels
The narrow housing is useful where the LX9000 may be too wide. LXNAV mentions DG and LS gliders as examples; actual fitment must be verified.
Competition pilots
AAT tasks, final glide, timing information and flight statistics support competition flying.
Pilots seeking a larger map in a narrow format
The 5-inch display provides more space than the compact LX8030 while retaining a slim profile.
Navigation, tasks and final glide
The LX9050 displays terrain, airports, waypoints and airspaces on a moving map. Tasks can be created on the instrument or imported from compatible flight-planning software.
Final glide calculations use the glider polar, MacCready, ballast and bugs settings. The system continuously updates arrival altitude and task information.
- Airport and waypoint navigation
- Competition tasks including AAT
- Final glide and arrival altitude calculations
- Moving map, terrain and airspaces
- CUP and CUPX files
- Custom pages with LX Styler
- Flight statistics and logbook
IGC flight recorder and traffic
The integrated IGC recorder includes an engine noise level (ENL) sensor. Flight logs can be transferred via SD card or USB, or through supported optional Wi-Fi connectivity.
Electric or jet-powered sailplanes may require MOP/MOP2 sensors for the applicable IGC engine-operation record.
Compatible FLARM or PowerFLARM equipment enables traffic display and alerts. Integrated PowerFLARM and ADS-B In are optional.
